Hyundai E&C will build the largest carrier-neutral hyperscale data center in Korea in Jukjeon-dong, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, ordered by Pacific Asset Management, a real estate asset management firm.

Yongin Jukjeon Pacific Sunny Data Center

The Yongin Jukjeon Pacific Sunny Data Center will be built based on an investment 828 billion won from CPP Investments, a global pension funds at Pacific Asset Management and Shinhan Financial Investment and is expected to drive abundant traffic due to its close location to Pangyo New Town called Korean Silicon Valley, which hosts many large IT companies.

The Jukjeon Data Center, with four underground floors to four ground floors, has a total floor area of 99,070㎡ and will provide tenant companies with a carrier-neutral environment and connection services that are not bound by telecommunication operators, with the goal of achieving “net-neutral integrity.”

By applying a design with adjusted inter-column spacing to respond immediately to rapid expansion of IT equipment, about 1,000 racks will be deployed for each data hall, and a high-performance computing environment of more than 10kW per rack will be provided to meet the needs of cloud, Internet, and telecom operators.
