Q. Please tell us about your job.

We provide information to support the rational decision-making of internal and external customers. To maximize corporate value through managing profitability, we also prepare financial statements, establish business plans, analyze business performance, raise and operate funds, manage target costs, and administer investment businesses.

Q When was the most rewarding moment during your work?

I have experience in introducing and developing an office work automation tool called RPA (Robotic Process Automation). It made me realize that the company was participating in the digital transformation trend, and it felt rewarding that I was helping in the process. Most of the participants, including myself, were employees with no coding experience, yet everyone voluntarily studied and started developing. It gave me the impression that we Hyundai E&C members are embedded with a “challenging DNA.”

Q What kind of competencies do you think you need to do your job?

Due to the nature of the Finance Division’s business, which derives meaningful information through a massive amount of digitized accounting and financial data, basic knowledge of accounting and finance and the ability to use Excel are very helpful. Above all, since the variables that affect the business environment are becoming increasingly diverse and uncertain, it is necessary to have the analytical strength to judge the meaning of numbers instead of merely calculating them. 

Q Is there a corporate culture of Hyundai E&C that you are very proud of?

I want to boast the hearty rapport of Hyundai E&C. When I first joined the company, I was very nervous, but many seniors bought me lunch so I could become friends with them quickly. I was also impressed when they taught me how to adapt to the smallest details, such as the frequently used Excel short keys. The warm affection between colleagues at Hyundai E&C is one of the driving forces to work hard at the company. 

Q Could you say a word to juniors who dream of working at Hyundai E&C?

I hope you find your own color. If you only paint what others are telling you, it will eventually be just black in the end. If you clearly understand what you can do well after a variety of experiences and use your strengths, you will grow to be a talented person with a brilliant color that others will recognize as well.
